Job Description:
On behalf of our client, we are seeking applicants for the role of Principal. This is a proactive position managing the analytical team within the Investment, Fund and Banking area, with particular responsibility for regulatory activity and operations.

Responsibilities Include:

Reviews documents/reports/recommendations from analytical staff on regulatory or operational matters and determines appropriate course of action on low to medium impact decisions.
Provides advice and senior level technical support to regulatory or operational team relative to the Company’s statutory responsibilities within the various areas of the Financial Services Section.
Manage and motivate performance and oversee the development of subordinates in the achievement of desired results through the effective use of team work.
Represent the company at various local and international meetings, conferences, seminars, or personal interactions with other regulatory bodies, governmental agencies and the financial services industry.
Perform other related work and special projects as assigned by management in accordance with competencies normally associated with the position.
Monitor performance of individual team members and provide routine mentoring and feedback; prepare formal performance appraisal reports, in conjunction with the relevant AD/Director, as prescribed by the performance management process.
Identify training needs of employees and in conjunction with L&D establish programmes for their development by way of formal training courses, special projects or on the job exposure.

Desired Experience and Educational Levels:

A Masters Degree or equivalent qualification in a financial or accounting discipline from a recognized institution or professional body
A minimum of seven (7) years relevant post graduate experience of which at least (3) years should be at a senior level working within a regulated financial services business, preferably Banking, Trust, Investment sector, Insurance or as a financial services regulator.
