Marketing Director

Job Description:
On behalf of our client we are seeking applicants for the role of Marketing Director. This is a key role within the company with primary responsibility for the planning, directing and executing of the marketing strategy for the organization’s products and services enabling the Company to meet its performance and brand positioning objectives within the Bermuda marketplace.
Major Duties And Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic marketing plans and sales forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for subscriber counts, revenues and profits.
- Develop and manage the annual marketing operating budget
- Plan and oversee advertising and promotional activities including print, on-line, electronic media and direct mail
- Manage the advertising agency including evaluation of its performance and the selection process for a new agency when required.
- Recommend and develop product positioning, marketing support and pricing strategy to ensure growth in market share including new products.
- Manage device selection process including sales forecasts, pipeline development for new introductions and phase out of discontinued stock.
- Work with sales staff to implement pricing and merchandising programs; new product promotional introductions; promotional advertising and in-store consumer promotions.
- Determine consumer, advertising and brand research plans utilizing quantitative, qualitative, mystery shopper and tracking study methods; synthesize the information and share with the company
- Generate public relations communications
- Maintain control of marketing results and take corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within plan
- Monitor the competitive environment and adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market conditions
- Establish and maintain a consistent corporate and brand image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events
- Review and analyze sales performance against programs and promotions to determine effectiveness
- Identify and coordinate key local sponsorship/partnership activities
- Provide marketing advice and guidance to internal customers to ensure overall marketing effectiveness
- Flexibility and openness to perform additional and different duties as requested and business demands
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in marketing. An MBA designation would be desirable.
- At least five years of prior experience in a senior marketing position in the mobile wireless and/or telecommunications industry
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of best in class marketing techniques and financial/commercial principles
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills and a high level of confidence
- Strong planning and follow-up skills
- Highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills
- Thrives on challenging the status quo and enjoys the challenge of rebuilding an organization
- Proven track record of delivering objectives on tight deadlines
