Life in Bermuda

Painters and photographers rave about Bermuda’s light and natural beauty and there is a vibrant community of painters and sculptors on island.

Bermuda’s galleries are exceptional, and the Friday night openings at the Bermuda Society of Arts are a great way to meet people and start Fridays.

Bermuda has a strong musical and theatrical tradition. The performing arts paved the way for young Bermudians like Rebecca Faulkenberry.  Ms. Faulkenberry has made a name for herself on Broadway, starring in “Rock of Ages” and “Spiderman”; meanwhile singer Collie Buddz is a superstar in the reggae world.  Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society (BMDS) and TROIKA are two stand out local amateur groups that put on several productions a year while there are also several very active choirs.

Several arts festivals take place during the year, with the Bermuda Festival for the Performing Arts running in January and February and the Bermuda International Film Festival is a must-go event in the spring. During the summer, a series of concerts by local and overseas artist perform from every musical background.
